Biography
Ramon Martin “Rama” Co studies twentieth-century U.S. foreign relations and the history of capitalism. His research examines private sector development as a site of intervention in Cold War Asia. He is particularly interested in the internationalization of U.S. business education during the 1950s-1970s, which brought foreign students to the United States and established schools overseas. He aims to explore how these programs reimagined and reconfigured aspiring businesspeople's relationships with their governments and the international order.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Letters (Great Books) and Philosophy from Wesleyan University and a Master's in History from Ateneo de Manila University.
Born and raised in Manila, he is a regular contributor to the Philippine Daily Inquirer. His writing has also appeared in Vogue Philippines and publications of the Asia Society.
