Biography
Rita Velasco studies Twentieth century Mexico and the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands. She demonstrates how Mexican civic celebrations in the United States during the 1940s influenced Mexican politics and foreign policy, American governance, and the social status of the Mexican diaspora. Rita earned a B.A. in history from the University of Oklahoma and an M.A. in history from the University of Arizona.
