Biography

Ben Miller studies 20th century U.S. history, focusing on liberalism after 1968. His research examines the people, values, and structures that have coalesced to form Blue America over the past fifty years. Ben’s interests cut across race, housing, immigration, capitalism, and popular culture.

Before coming to Northwestern, Ben worked in fair housing policy and completed a BA and MA in history at the University of Chicago. He has contributed to projects for the National Archives, American Historical Association, Norton & Co, the Pritzker Military Museum and Library, WETA-TV, and the Chicago Covenants Projects.
