Andrew Holter

Biography

Andrew Holter is a doctoral student in U.S. history and a Mellon Cluster Fellow in Native American and Indigenous Studies. His research interests include social movements; policing and surveillance; the history of photography; transnational politics and culture; and the history of journalism. His dissertation examines the significance of photography to American policing in the 20th century.

Andrew holds B.A. degrees in English and History and an M.A. degree in History from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is an alumnus of the Fulbright Scholar Program in the Czech Republic and the recipient of a Rubys Artist Project Grant from the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation.
