Gil Engelstein


Gil Engelstein is a doctoral candidate studying twentieth-century European history. His main fields of interest are International and Global history, Oral history and the history of gender and sexuality. His current project examines the intertwined relations between global migration movements and sexual cultures in the late 20th century, in the context of the Gay Liberation movement. Gil earned his BA in history and literature (magna cum laude) in Tel Aviv University, Israel, where he also wrote an MA thesis, titled: “'Once I Was One, Now I Am Many’: Collective Memory in Life Histories of Transgender Women in Israel.”
